It’s not your average general manager who will cuss out their team’s fans with a smile on their face.
But then, Howie Roseman isn’t your average general manager. Nor is Philadelphia your average sports city. Roseman, who has served in some executive capacity for the Eagles since 2000, was seen reacting to a sign ahead of the “Thursday Night Football” game vs. the Texans that claimed he was “forgiven” for past miscues after trading for receiver A.J. Brown.
Roseman gave a legendary and hilarious response, saying, “I’m f—ing forgiven for your first f—ing Super Bowl? F— you! Let’s f—ing go! F— you!”

Roseman reportedly returned to speak to the fans who held up the sign at NRG Stadium. The signage read, “Howie you are forgiven!” Lower down, it had Brown’s name with former receivers JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Jalen Reagor and Nelson Agholor’s names all crossed out:

Agholor (2015 first-rounder), Arcega-Whiteside (2019 second-rounder) and Reagor (2020 first-rounder) were all disappointing selections by the Eagles at receiver. Of the trio, only Agholor made it through his rookie contract; Arcega-Whiteside was traded ahead of his fourth season to the Seahawks in 2022, while Reagor was traded to the Vikings ahead of his third season.
Roseman appeared to learn his lesson ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft, trading picks to the Titans for an established receiver in Brown instead of taking another risk in the draft. The move has worked incredibly through eight games, as Brown leads the team in receptions (43), yards (718) and touchdowns (six).
Brown’s addition to the Eagles receiving corps has not only elevated the play of third-year quarterback Jalen Hurts, but has also helped the Eagles to an 8-0 start. Moreover, Philadelphia still has the Saints’ 2023 NFL Draft pick (predicted by Tankathon as the eighth overall selection ahead of Week 9) after trading picks with New Orleans — an all-around masterclass in team building by Roseman.

Still, it’s funny to see fans “forgive” a GM who helped create the team’s first and only Super Bowl-winning team from 2017 (which was just five years ago, for those fans with short memories).
Hey, if Roseman ends up having built another Super Bowl team, maybe Philly fans will even forget the team ever drafted those players. Maybe.
