The Pittsburgh Pirates and left-hander Rich Hill agreed to a one-year, $8-million contract, sources told Jeff Passan of ESPN.
Hill, 42, has played in the majors for 18 seasons. He accrued a 4.27 ERA with 109 strikeouts over 124 1/3 innings (26 starts) for the Boston Red Sox in 2022.
The veteran hurler has also pitched for the Chicago Cubs, Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Guardians, Los Angeles Angels, New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins, Tampa Bay Rays, and New York Mets.
Pittsburgh has added Hill, Austin Hedges, Vince Velasquez, Jarlin Garcia, Carlos Santana, Connor Joe, and Ji-Man Choi this offseason.
