NFL trade deadline tracker: Latest rumors, news, updates on Alvin Kamara & more at 2022 deadline

The 2022 NFL trade deadline has already bucked the trend of being a rather uneventful in-season milestone for the league.

There have already been seven trades during the 2022 NFL season, and six of them were agreed upon during the two weeks ahead of the trade deadline. The most notable player to switch teams was Christian McCaffrey, who was traded from the Panthers to the 49ers on Oct. 20.

The Panthers’ decision to trade McCaffrey — a star, three-down running back — seemed to take the lid off the NFL’s reluctance to swing deals. The Jets were able to acquire James Robinson while veteran pass rusher Robert Quinn and 2021 first-round pick Kadarius Toney were sent to the Eagles and Chiefs, respectively, in exchange for draft capital.

Now, as the NFL trade deadline for 2022 approaches, fans have just one question remaining. Who will be the next player traded?

There are plenty of potential trade targets still available. Saints running back Alvin Kamara, Browns running back Kareem Hunt and Broncos receiver Jerry Jeudy are among the most recognizable players involved in swirling trade rumors, so it will be interesting to see whether any of them are dealt.

Here are all the trades completed ahead of the 2022 NFL trade deadline as well as the latest news and rumors about those potential top trade targets.

NFL trade deadline 2022: Tracking the latest news, rumors

— Nov. 1: As Kareem Hunt’s future remains undecided, the veteran running back is ready to embrace whatever comes for him, as he explained after Cleveland’s 32-13 win over Cincinnati on “Monday Night Football.”

“I mean, I’m down for whatever, man,” Hunt said, per NFL.com. “I’m a football player and this is a business. So I’m ready to do whatever they decide with me. That’s either go somewhere else or here, anything it don’t matter. I love the game of football.”

— Oct. 31: One veteran that doesn’t seem likely to be moved is Texans edge rusher Jerry Hughes. The 34-year-old could help a playoff-caliber team’s pass rush, as he has five sacks this season, but as Jordan Schultz of The Score reports, he wants to stay close to his family in Houston.

— Oct. 31: More on the Nyheim Hines front — ESPN’s Stephen Holder reports that “odds are good” that Hines will be traded ahead of the trade deadline.

— Oct. 31: There’s another running back on the trade market. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that teams are asking about Colts running back Nyheim Hines, who is an excellent receiver out of the backfield.

— Oct. 31: Could the Eagles trade for Kareem Hunt? Fox Sports’ Ralph Vacchiano says to “keep an eye” on Philadelphia as a potential suitor for Hunt. That would be a repeat of what the team did ahead of the 2017 trade deadline, when they acquired former Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi. The Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl that year.

— Oct. 31: Getting Brandin Cooks out of Houston will be no easy feat. NFL reporter Dov Kleiman notes that the Texans won’t consider trading Cooks for anything less than a second-round pick. ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted that the Giants, Rams and Vikings are potential fits for the veteran receiver.

— Oct. 31: ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reports that the Giants are interested in Jerry Jeudy. However, he isn’t sure whether New York would be willing to pony up and pay the price the Broncos want for the 2020 first-round pick.

— Oct. 31: The Bears traded linebacker Roquan Smith, who requested a trade prior to the season, to the Ravens for LB A.J. Klein, a 2023 second rounder and a 2023 fifth rounder.

— Oct. 31: Jaguars pass rusher Josh Allen has reportedly been targeted by several teams, per Jordan Schultz. According to Schultz, the Jaguars would ideally like to keep their star, who is in the midst of another excellent season.

— Oct. 31: For the second year in a row, the Broncos are having one of their best pass rushers coveted. According to Peter King, the Dolphins and Jets are seeking Bradley Chubb amidst the Broncos’ struggles, as an arms race below the Bills has suddenly opened in the AFC East.

— Oct. 30: The Rams are still looking to trade Cam Akers ahead of the deadline, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that if they can’t offload him, he will remain with the team.

— Oct. 30: ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Texans are “open” to trading wide receiver Brandin Cooks. A trade would mark the fourth of Cooks’ career, an unusually high amount for an NFL player.

— Oct. 30: NFL Network reports that the Broncos are listening to offers on Bradley Chubb, Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler. However, other teams believe that Chubb is the most likely to move if Denver does make a trade.

— Oct. 30: The Bills have called the Saints about running back Alvin Kamara, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Browns are “willing to grant Kareem Hunt’s trade request.” NFL Network reports that he will be the top running back available on the market, but Cleveland won’t just trade him to trade him to trade him.
