After Wednesday, November 2, there will be just 16 teams left in contention for the 2023 Champions League crown with the 32-team group stage cut in half.
The knockout rounds will kick off in February 2023 and they will culminate in a final that will take place on a later date than usual given that the first-ever FIFA World Cup held in November and December 2022 will force a domino effect of shifts in the global football calendar.
Due to the forced break imposed on club competitions during the upcoming World Cup, the 2023 UEFA Champions League final will be pushed slightly, taking place a couple of weeks later than usual.
The 2023 edition of the final will be returning to Turkey, and here are all the details we know so far surrounding the event.

Where is the UEFA Champions League final in 2023?
The 2023 UEFA Champions League final will be played at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.
It will be the second time that the stadium has hosted the Champions League final, after serving as the venue for Liverpool’s stunning comeback from 3-0 down against AC Milan in 2005. The Reds eventually won on penalties after a 3-3 draw.
The 2023 edition will be 68th final of Europe’s premier club competition, and the 31st since it was rebranded and reformatted as the Champions League from its old European Cup moniker.
The 2023 final was initially scheduled to be played at Wembley Stadium in London, England, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced the reshuffling of the scheduled host venues.
At one point Ataturk Olympic Stadium was set to host the 2021 Champions League final, but two weeks before the event, the match was moved to Porto’s Estadio do Dragao because of COVID-19 issues in Turkey.
Where are the future Champions League finals?
UEFA has already decided on the host cities for the next three Champions League finals, following the 2022 edition in Saint-Denis, France.
After Turkey, the event will be held at Wembley Stadium in 2024, making for a record eighth final in London.
Another regular host of the Champions League final will follow in 2025, as Munich’s Allianz Arena hosts that city’s fifth European cup final.
The 2022 Champions League final was originally slated to be held in Saint Petersburg in Russia, but it was moved to France after the war in Ukraine broke out in February 2022.
