After building a 2-1 lead against the Slovaks, the Americans fell behind 4-2 after allowing three goals in a span of 3:19 at the end of the second period. They could not crawl out of the hole.
Switzerland has earned two non-regulation wins, most recently defeating Latvia 3-2 in a shootout. The Swiss are tied with the Finns, whom they beat in their first game, for the top spot in Group B.

The puck will drop at 4 p.m. ET (5 p.m. local time) from the Avenir Centre in Moncton, N.B., home of the QMJHL’s Moncton Wildcats. It is the third game of the tournament for both teams.
