CBC’s “Hockey Night in Canada” is back Saturday, with three Canadian teams playing in the doubleheader. Jets and Maple Leafs will face off in Winnipeg before the Canucks host the Sabres.
It has been a bumpy road for the Maple Leafs in 2022-23. While Toronto has grabbed wins over the Capitals and Senators, it also has dropped games to the Canadiens and Coyotes. The team is coming off an overtime win Thursday against the Stars, thanks to a two-goal effort by Nick Robertson that included the OT winner.
The Jets are 2-1-0 on the season, earning victories over the Rangers and Avalanche while falling to the Stars.
The Canucks have stumbled out of the gate. They not only are 0-3-1, they also have blown multi-goal leads in all four games. They’re the first team in NHL history to do that. They go against a Sabres team that’s off to a strong start with a 2-1-0 record.
