What time is Canada vs. Austria today? TV schedule, live stream to watch 2023 World Juniors game

One day after handing Germany an 11-2 beatdown, Canada has its eyes on another very beatable opponent as the defending champion faces Austria on Thursday at the 2023 World Junior Championship.

It was the Connor Bedard show on Wednesday night. The consensus No. 1 pick in the 2023 NHL Draft tied the Canadian World Juniors record for points in a game with seven against Germany. He and Dylan Guenther each recorded hat tricks as the team collected its first win at the tournament.

The thumping of Germany was much more in line with what was expected of this Canada team. Czechia stunned the Canadians in their first game at the competition, beating them for the first time since 2014.

“We were pretty hungry today, wanting to bounce back after the first game,” Bedard said. “We were pretty upset after that one. We were physical tonight, backchecking hard and doing those little things. I thought we played a good overall game.”

Austria has lost its first two games at the World Juniors, and neither have been close. Against Sweden and Czechia, the Austrians have been outscored by a combined 20-0.
